Five curtain rings

As many of you know I love nothing more than a visit to a car boot, I particularly love to have a ratch through the boxes under the tables where the real bargains are.
I was delighted when my new project for the Canvas Corp Brands design team was to repurpose a flea market find.
During one of my visits I found a great treasure haul of wooden curtain rings....some people see curtain rings I see mini photo frames.
I love altering found items, so many options. On this occasion I decided the 7gypsies Gypsy moments collection would fit perfectly.
I started by aging the rings with pebeo gilding wax then sanded back.
Some rings I added lace, broken jewellery,  micro beads and basically anything I could find in my stash.
I added Gypsy moments pictures from the 8x8 pad, I love this pad as it give a bit of everything from full 8x8 illustration to toppers, photos, sentiments and so much more.
I completed the project with some rusty wire as I thought it make a cool bunting of gypsy moments vintage style.

Its a rainy miserable day here in Carnforth and I was lacking inspiration until a cute little girl came into the shop with her mum. She was in a tutu , Wellington boots and a jumper, I commented how beautiful she looked to which her mum replied ' she's a strange little girl with her own ideas' After they left the shop I had a look through my TI'm Holtz paper dolls and found one that reminded me of her. I set about creating on a canvas board with some beautiful Stamperia rice papers I used decomache glue to decopatch it to the canvas board. If you haven't used the Stamperia rice papers I'd certainly recommend them as they are beautifully decorated but also quite tough for a rice papers I borrowed a book from Annie the other week which I adored,  she bought me one for my birthday 😀 I found a project that inspired me to make the tin foil 3 layered heart and the wire heart, I felt they would be both beautiful but also not too big to draw away from the rice...

Happy Friday ( is it Friday???) To you all

Hi everyone Well, I have no idea what day it is so I had to look it up 😂 To be fair I think it would be a great time to celebrate Christmas..We all moan we don't have enough time off at Christmas or we have to travel around family..so why not have a 3 week long Christmas? 😂 🌲🌲🌲 Anyway the sun is shining and long may it continue as it's definitely helping keep spirits up, people can exercise and life seems bearable. I haven't even started on box sets yet, too busy crafting , blogging and trying to keep my nhs and keyworker friends peckers up, I feel shit not being able to be there on the front line helping but I guess I can now help in other ways 😊 Ok so today I wanted to share with you the tags I've made using the 6 inch grey board tags from Tando Creative,  distress oxide inks, carabelle design stamps and a dylusions large stencil. Teabag Tags & Melon Balls

That is what today has consisted of... One of my very creative friends had a quirky little shop in morecambe,  lots of salvage, fantastic bits and pieces....think of Tim Holtz work room and that's what is was like with added ornate furniture. Anyway I loved her price tags so today I created my own, very simple....soak in strongly brewed tea for half and hour then lay flat on a baking tray and cook in an oven at 100 degrees for 10 mins, perfect rustic tags great as price tags but the bigger ones for mixed media. Another tip is to make a bow out of ribbon, coat in battery then bake on a very low heat for around 15 mins but keep a close eye. When dry and crusty add inks, dye, rust powders, paints...whatever you fancy. I have a love of eclectic collectable pieces but never get the chance much to mooch,  I love an early morning car boot in the summer months though, lots of little collectables that the sellers haven't realised how mixed media enthusiasts like them, hence you can...
