Sending you a hug

Hi everyone
So here we are, still in lockdown, I think it's week 5 now but I'm not entirely sure!!

So today I've been having a play with my favourite paper.... Rag paper.

So rag paper is made up of cotton bulk, it's incredible hard wear and comes in various gsm, sizes and shapes.

I chose to buy mine at Fred Aldous as seems by far the best price,  indigo blu also sell it in the form of a journal.

Today I've chosen a little zig zag concertina book measuring 7.5 x 7.5cm 210gsm, the pack of 5 cost £2.28.

Along with my favourite paper I've used my favourite paints...PaperArtsy fresco paints in limelight,  khaki and aquamarine.

When you start using rag paper,  the best thing to do is spritz all over with water do get some moisture into the pile.

I then added the 3 colours randomly using a 31/2 inch brush.
I feel the booklet needs a front and back to give it some substance so chose some corrugated cardboard,  stripping the top layer partially off. I painted the corrugated cardboard in the same colours starting with the khaki and finishing with limelight to make it all pop.
Once dry I started stamping,  nothing precise,  no acrylic blocks,  just random using Trish Lattimer whimsical backgrounds.

So now to bring it all together,  I love doodling with white pen so added bits and bobs all over.

I finally added words ' sending you a hug ' and the word ' hello ' to the front.

The whole thing probably took me a couple of hours,  I hope it's given you some Inspiration.

I decorated some rag paper gift bags too.

Keep safe xx
